CENTERVIEW-The annual Centerview Ruritan Hayride is set
to begin October 21 at 6 p.m. at the Centerview Elementary School football
The cost is $6. The hayride will also take place on
October 22, 27, 28, and 29. All proceeds collected will be donated to benefit
the walking track and parking lot in memory of the late Wesley "Brad"
Dawson and the late Jonathon Caldwell.
During the opening night, a special candle light memorial
service in memory of Dawson and Caldwell.
Dawson, 28, and Caldwell, 19, died in March of this year
as the result of a boating accident on the Nolichucky River near the

School in 2001 and was an avid hunter and fisherman, according to his father.

Caldwell was the son of Carl "Sam" Caldwell and
Jean and Michael Lovell. He has a brother, David Caldwell, 17, and a sister,
Carly Caldwell, 15. He is the father of the late Abrianna Nicole Jones. As a
2009 CCHS graduate, Caldwell enlisted in the United States Army and was
scheduled to leave for Basic Training on May 15.
