Last Friday, the CCHS Cross Country team carried the game ball from
Hedrick Field in Newport to South Greene High School. The team wanted
to show some school spirit and kick off the 2010 Football season. Each
team member ran over a 2-mile leg en route to the 25-plus miles to
South Greene. Ashley Gregg (left) and Courtney Williamson (right) started
the journey and the entire team ran the last 1/4-mile. In a show of support,
the CCHS student body and band formed a tunnel around the track and
through the parking lot to send the runners off.
