NEWPORT-Here we go again! It's time for the 2010 Newport
Plain Talk Football Contest.
And, checking both the college and high school schedules
for the next ten weeks, there are some very interesting match-ups that should
be tough for all who participate.
Each and every Tuesday for the next ten weeks, you will
find The Newport Plain Talk Football Contest page. Today, Week No. 1, can be
found on page 13.
It's easy to play. You will find five high school and
five college games each week within each of our sponsor ads. But, because
college doesn't officially begin until next week, this week in the football
contest, we have nine high school and one college game for you. On the contest
entry form, found in the middle of the page, simply chose which team you think
will win, what you think the final score will be, which will be used for tie
breakers, and from what sponsor's ad you found the match-up in.
Once you've completed the entry form, simply clip it out,
and drop it by The Plain Talk, or mail it to The Newport Plain Talk, Football
Contest, 145 East Broadway, Newport, TN. 37821.
In addition, we'll have the complete results for you
every Tuesday in The Plain Talk's Sports section. It will include our weekly
winners, and the weekly standings.
Make sure you play each and every week. Our overall
winner at the end of the season will be presented the Grand Prize, one cinema
party for the winner and 19 friends or family members from Newport Cinema 4,
