JEFFERSON CITY-Carson Newman coach Ken Sparks has been
around a long time.
So when he says an upcoming season is his greatest
challenge, it's enough to make everyone take notice.
Carson Newman, despite coming into the 2010 season ranked
No. 9 in the AFCA Division II Top 25 poll and picked to win their 22nd Southern
Athletic Conference title, enters the 2010 season with a youth movement at
hand.
The Eagles must replace 16 starters from last year's
national semifinal team and have only 13 upperclassment listed on the two-deep
depth chart on both sides of the ball.
"This is the greatest challenge since
I've been here," Sparks said at Carson Newman football Media Day on
Tuesday afternoon. "With great challenges though come great opportunities."
