NEWPORT-The countdown to the beginning of the 2010 season
and the Greg Hacker era at Cocke County High School is nearing its conclusion.
CCHS begins their season on Friday night by travelling
across county borders for the sixth installment of the series with District
2-AA rival South Greene High School. Kickoff from Rebel Hill at South Greene is
set for 7:30 p.m. (Radio: WLIK 1270-AM).
The game will mark the first for first-year
Fighting Cocks coach Greg Hacker and also his first ever game as a head coach.
Hacker served as a longtime coordinator and assistant at three prior stops over
his coaching career before taking the Cocke County job in January.
