My husband and I want to brag about what an exceptional
Sheriff's Department we have here in Cocke County. We are very grateful to
them, and very proud of the job they did for us.
Sometime during the night or early morning hours of July
6, 2010, two unsupervised 14-15 year old boys on our road came onto our
property and stole my husband's four-wheeler. (If I might add, a four-wheeler
that it took him a very long time to purchase because we had to save up the
money to do so.) My husband is a
100% service-connected disabled veteran, and this new 'toy' made life so much
easier for him. He enjoys riding
it to visit the friends and neighbors on our road.
He was heartsick to find the four-wheeler missing, so I encouraged
him to call the Sheriff's department although neither of us thought we'd ever
see the vehicle again.
The people we talked to about the theft were so courteous
and understanding, and within a 24 hour period, I answered a phone call from a
Deputy Sheriff who stated that our four-wheeler had been found and the
perpetrators arrested.
I apologize for being too excited to get the officers'
names, but hopefully they'll read this and find out how grateful we are to them
that they were on the job...that they placed importance on our theft...and that
they notified us so quickly of its recovery.
Although we still feel invaded, knowing that at least one
of the little thieves has known us since he was a baby and still felt free to
trespass and rob us, we rest easy knowing that we have excellent law
enforcement taking care of us. God
bless you all, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!
