NEWPORT-There will be plenty of excitement at English Mountain Dragway this Thursday, July 29.

'The Mountain' will welcome Darin' Erin from WBIR, Channel 10, this Thursday evening. English Mountain Race Director David Clevenger put a challenge out to Erin at the first of the season daring her to come drag race at 'The Mountain.' Erin has accepted the dare and will appear this Thursday evening.

Thursday evening will be an open practice to all who want to come and bring their cars. The track will not be hosting a gambler or trophy race on this night, however. It will be test and tune only.

There will be no admission to anyone. The gates will open at 5 p.m. The track is  expecting Erin around 6 p.m.

"We would love to have lots of fans and race cars show up this night and represent 'The Mountain,'" said Clevenger. "Our overall goal is to show 'The Mountain' is the fun place to race.
