Election Commission requests voter registration activity now

NEWPORT-The Cocke County Election Commission encourages
the public to register to vote now if they are not a Cocke County registered
voter or if they have moved and need to update their address with the Cocke
County Election Commission.
Voter registration in Tennessee is by county and if you
have moved into Cocke County you are required to complete a new voter
registration application before the registration deadline.
Joyce Slagle, Administrator of Elections encourages the
public to pick up a voter registration application now at any one of the
following locations:
Public Libraries
City Halls
Post Offices
Department of Safety
County Clerk Office
Register of Deeds
County Election Office
Or in person registration at our office
An
application can be printed off the state website at the following address
http://state.tn.us/sos/election/ss-3010.pdf. Please complete the printed application in black or blue
ink. The last day to register to
vote for the May 2010 election is April 5, 2010.
If you are a Cocke County voter who needs to change your
address or name, please complete the voter registration application and your
information will be updated.
Citizens are not registered voters in Cocke County until they receive a
voter registration card.
