NEWPORT-A benefit will be held Saturday, March 6, at Spirit and Truth House of Prayer, 589 West Broadway, for Alexis Grace Parton.

Alexis, who was born February 22, has had many complications and has already undergone surgeries. She has been on life support and will probably spend several more weeks in UT Medical Center.

Her parents, Ricky and Tamara Parton, are unable to work because of her illness and need help with medical expenses.

Saturday's benefit, which begins at 7 p.m., will feature singers Pure in Heart.
