burglary, theft over $1,000

Aaron Shropshire, 19, of 148 Walnut Ridge Way, in White Pine, was arrested
Wednesday, Feb. 24, and charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000,
Det. Bryan Murr reported. Shropshire was charged with the burglary of the Robin
Borth residence and theft of property from that residence at 1253 Joseph Way,
in Newport, on Jan. 12.

domestic assault
Alfred
Bryon Cole, 51, of 240D Eply Road, in Newport, was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 23,
and charged with aggravated domestic assault, Deputy Sheriff Randall Hartsell
reported. Cole and his wife Barbara allegedly got into an altercation on Feb.
23, in which he allegedly hit his wife in the head with a lamp, causing a
laceration on top of her head. Barbara Cole was also allegedly bleeding from
her right ear.

Kent Click, 38, of 751 Warford Road, in Newport, was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 23,
and charged with worthless checks, Deputy Sheriff Randall Hartsell reported. Click
was allegedly served a warrant on a worthless check in the amount of $200 from
Country Convents.

Hooper Highway
Juanita A.
Pursel, 40, of 106 Indian Shores Overlook, in Dandridge, was traveling north on
Highway 321, on Wednesday, Feb. 24, in a 2009 Nissan S12, when Ronaldo E.
Valentine, Jr., 52, of 160 Baxter Road, in Cosby, allegedly lost control of his
2001 Ford pickup truck and sideswiped Pursel in her Nissan. Valentine stated
that the rear end of his pickup truck began sliding on the snow and ice,
causing him to strike the Nissan. Pursel was injured and transported to the
Baptist Hospital of Cocke County ER by Allied EMS, Deputy Sheriff Steve Johnson
reported.

Chrisman, of Thinwood Drive, stated on Sunday, Feb. 18, that a man he
identified came to West Gate Tire to get his tired rotated. Chrisman said the
man's tires were too bald to rotate. The man allegedly said he wanted it done,
nonetheless. Chrisman told the man it would cost $17.50 to plug a small leak in
one of the tires. The man than allegedly got mad, got in his truck, backed up
and pulled out of the parking lot, slinging gravel that chipped the windshields
on three vehicles nearby, Deputy Sheriff Randall Hartsell reported.

Pinto, 36, of Cheyenne Circle, said she returned home from work on Sunday, Feb.
21, and discovered someone had stolen a 52-inch TV from the living room and a
speaker in front of the TV, Constable Mike Shropshire reported. The Samsung TV
was valued at $2,000, and the Samsung speaker are valued at $200.

Mike Shropshire said he responded to a call on Sunday, Feb. 21, on Pleasant
Valley Road, to check a vehicle that was parked on the street. Shropshire said
the back glass was busted out, the driver side window was down, the glove box
was open, and the key was in the ignition switch. Nothing else appeared to be
wrong with the 2002 Nissan, which apparently belonged to Patty Lane of Sunset
Gap Road. The vehicle was put on hold for a detective to look at it.

Daniels, 19, of 160 Murrell Meadows, in Sevierville, was arrested Wednesday,
Feb. 24, and charged with violation of probation, Sgt. David R. Smith reported.

for driving on a suspended license

Rosenbaum, 31, of 1584 Bullard Drive, in Newport, was arrested on Thursday,
Feb. 25, and charged with driving on a suspended license (two charges), traffic
control device, and no insurance, Patrolman Travis Gorrell reported.
Accident at
Interstate Liquor and Wine

Stepp, 38, of Stepp Road, in Bybee, said he left his 2000 GMC Sonoma pickup
truck parked and unoccupied on Thursday, Feb. 25, at the parking lot for
Interstate Liquor and Wine, at 833 Cosby Highway, in Newport, Patrolman Travis
Gorrell reported. Richard E. Rodrigues, 78, of 989 Sencebaugh Drive, in
Sevierville, said he was backing a 1986 Ford Ranger out of a parking space and
did not see the GMC truck behind him. The Ford Ranger struck the GMC's rear bumper.

Marchell Campbell, 40, of Brookfield Drive, in Newport, said she was inside the
Newport Police Department working, on Wednesday, Feb. 24, returned to her
vehicle, a 2007 Pontiac G6, and noticed minor damage to the rear bumper of the
vehicle, Capt. Brad Ball reported.

at Long John Silvers
Kristopher
Daniel Zieger, 23, of Carson Springs Road, in Newport, contacted police on
Wednesday, Feb. 24, about his 1996 Lexus ES 300 being struck at Long John
Silvers, at 116 East Broadway, in Newport. Zieger said he parked his Lexus at
LJS when Charles M. Evans, 65, of Old Sevierville Highway, in Newport allegedly
got into his 2000 Pontiac Sunfire, opened the driver's side door, and struck
the Lexus with that door, causing a small black mark. Evans left the scene.
Police tracked down Evans at his residence. He said he was not aware that he
struck the Lexus with his door, Capt. Brad Ball reported.

William Maples, 64, of Hale Brook Road, in Newport, said that he was driving a
2009 Chevy CK-1 pickup truck at Time Out, at 1130 West Highway 25/70, in
Newport, on Wednesday, Feb. 24, driving past the gas pumps at the gas station.
He said he sideswiped a red metal pole that protects the pumps, Patrolman Amy
Elswick reported.

Fox, 58, of 161 Pilgrim Circle, in Cosby, said on Wednesday, Feb. 24, he
noticed when he got up that a passenger mirror on his 2004 Ford F150 was pushed
up against the passenger window and broken. Fox told Patrolman Thomas Whitfield
he believes the damage happened at the night of Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Walmart.

Gibson, 35, of Temper Lane, in Dandridge, said he let a man stay the night with
him and his brother at Parkway Inn room 229, at 766 Cosby Highway, from
Wednesday, Feb. 16, until the next day, in room 229, at the motel at 766 Cosby
Highway. Gibson said he went to bed and woke up to find the man was gone, as
was $35 from his wallet, and his medications he said he paid with TennCare from
pain consultants in Knoxville, Patrolman Thomas Whitfield reported.

stolen, to a report filed Wednesday, Feb. 24, Patrolman Thomas Whitfield reported:
an 18-volt Dewalt skill saw (valued at $225), a Dewalt radio/charger ($150),
and a Fluke volt meter ($400).

Costner, 32, of Upper Broad, in Newport, said he invited an acquaintance to his
residence on Thursday, Feb. 18, and the person stayed until Monday, Feb. 22.
Costner said that on Tuesday, Feb. 23, he found his five-gallon English water
container next to his computer with loose change was missing. He reported to
Patrolman Robby McMahan the following was gone: the container (worth $20),
coins inside it ($50), and a black Motorola Track phone (about $50).

Crumbley, manager of Food City West at 181 Western Plaza Drive, in Newport,
said on Tuesday, Feb. 23, a white male, slender, in his early 20s, entered the
store and took three boxes of Sleep Aid medication in his pants. They were
valued at $12 each for a total of $46, Patrolman Matthew Elliott reported.

Robinson, 42, of Bat Harbor Road, in Newport, said on Saturday, Feb. 13, she left
her purse in a shopping cart after unloading bags at Walmart, at 1075 Cosby
Highway, in Newport, Det. Donna Hopkins reported.
