The Newport Grammar Warriors and Lady Warriors should sleep well tonight after each plays back-to-back games at two separate locations today. Today's games follow victories for both at two separate tournaments Monday night.

The Warriors and Lady Warriors are playing in the Area 3 Large School playoffs at Sevierville Middle and the Three Rivers Conference playoffs at White Pine School.

The Lady Warriors, the No. 7 seed, after defeating Pigeon Forge, the No. 3 seed, last night and New Center, the No. 6 seed, on Jan. 28, takes on Sevierville, the No. 2 seed, at 4:30 this afternoon at the Area 3 Large School playoffs at Sevierville Middle. At the conclusion of that game, the Lady Warriors will immediately hit the road to White Pine School where they will face White Pine, the No. 4 seed, in the semifinals of the Three Rivers Conference playoffs at 8:45 tonight. The Lady Warriors are the tournament's top seed.

Meanwhile, the Warriors, the No. 7 seed, after defeating New Center, the No. 3 seed, last night, and Pigeon Forge, the No. 6 seed on Jan. 28, will face off against Northview, the No. 2 seed, at the Area 3 Large School tournament at Sevierville Middle starting at 5:45 this afternoon. Following the conclusion of that game, it's an immediate trip to White Pine School for the Three Rivers Conference playoffs where they face Hancock, the No. 5 seed, at 7:30 tonight in the semifinals. The Warriors are the top seed of the tournament.

The Area 3 Large School tournament is the TMSAA Area Tournament. The top three teams and an at large team moves on to the TMSAA Sectional Tournament, which is as far as you can go in middle school basketball.
