KNOXVILLE-The Cosby Eagles and Lady Eagles were back on
the hardwood for the second straight night traveling to Knoxville to take on
Berean Christian. But, there was no sign of tired as Cosby came away with a
sweep of the homestanding Eagles of Berean.
The Lady Eagles (12-3) shook off a tough loss to Pigeon
Forge on Monday night by cruising to a 27-point victory, 54-27, over Berean
(3-12), despite a slow start.
The Eagles (12-3) are on a roll, and won their eighth
straight with a 74-56 victory over Berean (5-16).
LADY EAGLES BACK
The Lady Eagles may have been still feeling the effects
of their tough game with Pigeon Forge on Tuesday night in the first quarter at
Berean on Tuesday. But once their offense got going, it was 'Good Night Irene.'
Lady Eagle fans were a bit concerned in the early going
as Berean led the Lady Eagles by four, 6-2, at the end of the first quarter.
But that quickly changed.
The Lady Eagles blasted Berean 23-6 over the second eight
minutes, and took a 25-12 lead into the locker room, much to the relief of Lady
Eagle fans.
The Lady Eagles put the game away in the third quarter,
outscoring Berean 19-8, and led 44-20 heading into the final quarter.
The final eight minutes were a foregone conclusion, as
the Lady Eagles cruised home with the 54-27 victory, their 12th on the season.
The Lady Eagles buried seven three-pointers on the night,
four from junior point guard Alyssa McMahan, two from Tiffany Smelcer and one
from Brooklyn Stuart. Berean failed to connect from beyond the arc on the night.

EAGLES ROLL
The Eagles have been battle tested and continue to roll,
winning their eighth straight contest Tuesday night at Berean.
The Eagles started off quickly, and took an 18-6 lead
into the second quarter.
Berean made a run at the Eagles over the second eight
minutes, however, and outscored the Eagles 19-15. But, the Eagles still had a
33-25 lead at the break.
The Eagles came out of the locker room with all guns
firing, and outscored Berean 23-12 to take a comfortable 56-37 lead into the
final quarter.
Berean outscored the Eagles down the stretch 19-18, but
the damage had already been done, and the Eagles came away with the 18-point
victory.

Cosby returns to the court for the third time in four
days tonight (Thursday) when it re-enters District 2A play on the road at
Clinch. Boy's JV will tip things off at 5 p.m. followed by girl's varsity at
6:30 p.m. and boy's varsity at around 8 p.m.
Cosby will wrap up this week's play with a
make-up against District 2A foe J. Frank White at the Eagles' Nest on Saturday.
