NEWPORT- Ritchie Carr, 53, of 1628 Edwina Bridgeport Road, in Newport, died Wednesday night after a vehicle he was working underneath collapsed and pinned him to the ground, according to the Cocke County Sheriff's Department.

Deputy Sheriff Travis Webb reported that Carr came and got the keys from Ronnie Carr to fix her car.

Later that evening, Jamie Carr apparently went outside and saw Ritchie Car pinned in the passenger side fender well with the car not jacked up.

Jamie Carr stated he had to jack the car back up to get Ritchie Carr out. He then did CPR and called 911.

Ritchie Carr was transported to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
