Lily Asbury, right, was in town Tuesday morning to make donations to Stokely Memorial Library
and Newport Animal Shelter. The Newport Grammar School student is the daughter of Gabriel
and Rebekah Asbury and has three money jars at home. During the course of the year,
whenever Lily acquires money, she divides it among the jars-one for saving, one for spending,
and one for donations. At the end of the year, she selects the recipients of the donated money.
Accepting Lily's donation of ten one-dollar bills and six pennies is Stokely Memorial Librarian
Pauline Proffitt.
