NEWPORT-It will be Super Bowl Saturday for the English Mountain Football Conference this Saturday, November 7, and Cocke County will be well-represented with three teams, two from Newport and one from Cosby.

In Division I Grasscutter semifinal action last Saturday in the rain, Pigeon Forge blanked Cosby 21-0 while Sevierville shut out Dandridge 13-0. In Division II Grasscutter semifinal play, Newport held on to beat Grainger County 19-14 while Jefferson City shut out Edgemont 20-0.

In Division I Super Grasscutter semifinal action last Saturday, Jefferson City beat Talbott 18-6 while Dandridge outlasted Grainger County 12-6 in two overtimes. In Division II Super Grasscutter semifinal play, Northview held on to beat New Center 6-0 in overtime while Cosby blanked Strawberry Plains 12-0.

In Division I Pee Wee semifinal round play last Saturday, Pigeon Forge shut out Edgemont 25-0 while White Pine edged Northview 12-6 in overtime. In Division II Pee Wee semifinal action, Newport rolled past Sevierville 31-0 while Strawberry Plains beat Talbott 21-6.

Super Bowls will be played this Saturday, November 7, at Sevier County High School.

The first Super Bowl will be Division II Grasscutter with Newport taking on Jefferson City at 10 a.m. That will be followed by the Division II Super Grasscutter Super Bowl pitting Northview against Cosby at 11:30 a.m. The Division II Pee Wee Super Bowl will follow with Newport taking on Strawberry Plains at 1 p.m., followed by the Division I Grasscutter Super Bowl pitting Sevierville against Pigeon Forge. The Division I Super Grasscutter Super Bowl will have Dandridge playing Jefferson City at 4 p.m. And, Super Bowl Saturday will wrap up with the Division I Pee Wee Super Bowl pitting White Pine against Pigeon Forge at 5:30 p.m.
