COSBY-Two Cosby women, whose act of generosity led to
their assaults and robbery, were treated at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County on
Wednesday.
According to a Sheriff's Department report filed by Detective
Bryan Murr, Trula Mae Shults, 74, and Reva Dean Dorsey, 72, both of Cosby, were
approached by a woman, thought to be in her 20s, who asked for a ride to her
residence.
Shults agreed to take to woman to a residence on Hopkins
Road.
When they arrived at that location, the suspect, who was
riding in the back seat, demanded that both ladies give their purses to her.
When they refused, she struck them both with a metal object, then took Shults'
pocketbook and the vehicle.
The missing car is described as a maroon 1998 Chevrolet
Malibu 4-door sedan.
