COSBY-William (Bill) Shults, 70,
well-known member of theHard Times Street Rod Car Club, died Wednesday evening, July 1, at UT
MedicalCenter in Knoxville from injuries he received in a two-vehicle accident on June15.
Shults was a passenger in a 2005 Chevrolet Impala drivenby his wife Bobbie when
their car was struck was by a 1993 Buick operated byDiane Dobosh, 59, Cosby.
According to a report filed by Cocke County Sheriff Department Deputy
Jason Oury, theaccident occurred on Hwy. 321 when Mrs. Shults, traveling south, attempted toturn
left into a private driveway in front of the Dobosh car's path.
The
Dobosh vehicle struck the Shults automobile in thepassenger's side, spinning the car around into a
concrete post.
Shults had been a patient at the medical center since
theaccident.
The son of World War II casualty Neil L. Shults and thelate
Wanda Caton Shults, he was a member of the Cosby Church of Christ.
Ironically Mr. Shults had been physically handicappedfollowing a car accident
Nov. 16, 1984 which took the life of his first wife,the former Brenda Jean Boothe. That accident
occurred within sight of the wreckwhich claimed his life.
In addition to
his wife, Mr. Shults is survived by twochildren, Neil Shults and Nancy Shults Duda, two
step-daughters Debbie Williamsand Teresa Shults, and four grandchildren, Aaron and Jeanie Shults and
Nick andRachel Duda.
Funeral services for Mr. Shults will be Sunday, July
5,in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Olie Williamson officiating. Thefamily will receive
friends from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment will be held Monday, July 6, in theMarty
Shults Family Cemetery in Cosby.
