Holiday Inn Express & Suites construction by DS Builders is almost complete and the facility
is expected to open in mid-July, said new General Manager Debra Irwin. The 71-room motel
is four stories and was financed by Tennessee State Bank located off Cosby Highway near
I-40 and is owned by Dennis Patel. Irwin is a veteran of the hospitality industry having
worked many years in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. She lives in Seymour but expects to
move close to Newport soon.
