Theft from utility service truck reported
Bill Crum on Friday, June 12, reported the theft of several items from a service truck belonging to Jefferson-Cocke County Utility District while it was parked at Rusty Wallace Newport Ford at 1100 West Highway 25-70, according to a report written by Cocke County Deputy Sheriff Timothy N. Snapp. The truck was allegedly parked there from Monday, June 8, to Friday, June 12. The following were reported stolen from the truck: two full sets of assorted wrenches ($300), two socket sets ($500), 14-inch aluminum pipe wrenches ($60), a water cooler ($25), four 64-foot rolls of copper ($200), three crescent wrenches ($200), and four channel locks ($100).

Two roosters reported stolen
Guadalupe Cruz, 50, of 115 Rays Loop Road, in Newport, stated that on Wednesday, June 10, two white males came to her residence, opened the door to her chicken pen, and stole her two roosters. The suspects allegedly fled the scene in a white, older model Oldsmobile, according to Sgt. Armando Fontes of the Cocke County Sheriff's Department. During the theft, the two men allegedly let loose other fowl that remained at large when Fontes was at the scene.

Aluminum wheels and tires reported stolen
Randy Hurley, 38, of 704 Highway 73, in Newport, reported on Friday, June 12 the theft of four aluminum wheels and three tires he said were kept in a barn near his home, according to a report by Timothy N. Snapp of the Cocke County Sheriff's Department. Hurley said he noticed the items missing on Friday, June 5 and sent a text message to an individual asking about their whereabouts. That individually allegedly replied he knew where the items were and that "he would take care of the situation." Hurley said he sent the text message on Sunday, June 7. Hurley said he believed the items were stolen sometime between Monday, June 1, and Friday, June 5.

Violation of Order of Protection alleged
Kassaundra Lashae Wilds-Price, 19, of Good Hope Road in Parrottsville, on Thursday, June 11 filed a complaint against an individual for allegedly violating an Order of Protection issued to her on May 27. Price brought with her copies of three messages with June days and times on them that the individual allegedly sent from a MySpace account to her MySpace account, according to Cocke County Sheriff's Department report.


Police

Following the arrival of police to investigate an argument, James (Scott) Williams, 36, of 1560 East Highway 25/70, in Newport, was arrested at an apartment parking lot on Appalachian Way on Tuesday, June 9, and charged with violation of probation. A NCIC check allegedly revealed that Williams had a violation of probation warrant for his arrest in Cocke County, according to a report by Patrolman David R. Smith.
