Over 8,000 milk jugs collected during recycling program

During a two-weeks project to recycle plastic milk jugs, elementary school students in Cocke County brought in 8,526 jugs. On Wednesday morning, Keep Cocke County Beautiful Director Elizabeth Reed presented plaques to Del Rio Elementary School, winner in the small-schools division, and Newport Grammar School, winner in the large schools division. She also announced that Luke and Melissa Goddard will once again provide an ice cream party for students in the winning schools.
