Gasoline prices have been collapsing, reflecting
big declines in world oil prices and stock markets. Douglas Lake Market off
Highway 25E dropped the regular price of gas to $2.95 per gallon on Thursday.
"It's real," said clerk Shelly Wilson, who had plenty of business
Friday morning. Nicki Le of Newport, (shown in inset) was pumping gas. Wilson
said the current price was good at least until Monday. Woody's Market in White
Pine was also selling gas at $2.95 to a line of motorists.
