NEWPORT-Lu Ann Ballew, the child services magistrate who ordered a baby's first name be changed from Messiah to Martin, has been replaced.

Duane Slone, the presiding Fourth Judicial District Judge, removed Ballew from her appointed position and named Melissa Moore Lelonek of Sevierville as the new child support magistrate.

Ballew's last day on the job as magistrate was Friday, Jan. 31. Judge Slone appointed Sevierville attorney Lelonek to replace her as child services magistrate, effective Feb. 1.
