NEWPORT-Monday was a busy day for firefighters with the Cocke County Fire Department.The CCFD responded to two major structure fires, and a smoldering attic fire, on Monday, Dec. 16. Fortunately, no one was hurt.The call on the first fire came in soon after Sunday midnight, at 12:44 a.m. on Monday, at a residence at 432 Scenic Drive, in Newport.Billy Hall is the owner of the property.When firefighters arrived, Hall's approximately 30-foot by 30-foot was fully engulfed in flames.Firefighters with the Cosby Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire, as well.Firefighters "suppressed" the fire with foam, according to Lt.
