NEWPORT—She's a familiar face to many citizens, many of whom she's cared for in her role as a registered nurse.

Susie O'Dell has cared for hundreds of patients herself, including her mother, the late Ruth Perrin O’Dell, but last year, she joined the ranks of those needing care as she battled breast cancer.

Susie’s journey has been tough, but she’s quick to tell listeners, "I’m a survivor!" She’s now through her chemo treatments and her hair is returning. She’s also excited to share her story, saying, "If it helps one person, it was worth the journey."
