"Up to now, we haven't been able to do that," said Mathis. "We've gotten a lot of requests from the public. Our office always wants to look for ways we can be more helpful. Right now, we're just waiting on the state to process and release our information. It should be done by the end of the month, if not sooner."Mathis said the payments can be made in any combination or time frame the customer wishes. He points out, however, the partial payments apply to 2013 taxes and cannot be accepted for tax payments for 2012 and earlier. In addition, the Trustees Office will not accept partial payments for properties under the tax relief program because the property owner's portion of the tax must be paid in full before the state tax relief can be applied.
