NEWPORT-A 15-year-old at Cocke County High School allegedly found with 1.5 grams of marijuana on Tuesday, Oct. 1, was zero-toleranced for one year, charged with possession of a Schedule 6 (marijuana) drug while on school property, and released to his guardian, the Cocke County Sheriff's Office reported.Sgt. Randy Cutshaw reported he received a tip that a juvenile at CCHS was bragging about having marijuana in his possession.Sgt. Cutshaw said he located the student, took him to the office, and searched him.He stated he found a clear plastic bag containing a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana, the report stated.The suspect allegedly stated he found the bag of marijuana "glistening in the sun" on the ground and decided to keep it.
