NEWPORT-An armed Tactical Response Team with a search warrant entered the residence of Charles Thomas "Chuck" Hillard on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 5:10 p.m., and seized over $50,000 in cash, a 2006 GMC subsequently driven to the residence with Hillard in it, a 1990 Geo Tracker, 6.75 pounds of suspected marijuana, 18 firearms, and other items, the Sheriff's Office reported.Agent Chuck Evans of the Sheriff's Office stated in his report that undercover officers utilizing confidential sources had obtained marijuana from Hillard prior to the search warrant.Hillard was arrested and charged with possession of felony drug paraphernalia (three counts), possession of Schedule 6 (marijuana) for resale, possession of Schedule 2 (amphetamine), and possession of Schedule 4 (Hydrocodone), Evans reported.
