NEWPORT—Tuesday’s date of October 1 is just around the corner, bringing with it the implementation of the next phase of “The Affordable Care Act”, open enrollment to the Marketplace, and with that many questions and uncertainties on the part of American citizens.

Kimberly Vick and Deborah Michaels, and their supervisor at Rural Medical Services Inc., Mitzi Satterfield, stand ready to help people enroll in the program.

Working under a government grant, Vick and Michaels have completed the training required of Certified Application Counselors. “We are here to help people to enroll in the Marketplace,” said Vick, “to help people with the enrollment process. We are here to assist anyone needing help and computer access to the Marketplace and, there are no charges incurred for our services.”
