SNEEDVILLE—The Cosby Eagles finally put everything together on Friday evening as they topped the Hancock County Indians, 40-22.

The game was tied at the half, but great halftime adjustments led to an explosive third quarter for the Eagles, and they pulled away pretty easily to grab their first victory of the season.

“It feels good to get that first win,” Cosby head coach Kevin Hall said. “We’re excited. It’s a little over due, but it was a great second half by our kids to get this victory tonight.”

The Eagles (1-4, 1-1) finished the game with 327 yards of offense, and they were led by several players.

Dereck Weeks finished the night 9-of-14 passing for 102 yards and three touchdowns. Weeks also had 66 yards rushing and two more scores.

Jackie Gibson caught two passes for six yards and two touchdowns, while Lance Greco had the other touchdown catch of 33 yards.

Jonathan Douglas also tallied 112 yards on 24 carries and a score.
