AFTON—A valiant effort from the Cosby Eagles wasn't enough on Friday evening as they fell to the Chuckey-Doak Black Knights, 26-10.

Cosby played arguably its best game of the season to this point, but Chuckey-Doak was able to pull away late in the fourth on a couple of touchdowns.

Eagles (0-4) head coach Kevin Hall couldn't have asked for a better performance from his team, as they finished with 224 offensive yards and played solid on defense, especially in the first half.

Dereck Weeks led the Eagles with 72 yards on 14 carries. Jonathan Douglas had 60 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

The Black Knights (3-1) just made a few more big plays in the second half to get the victory.
Chuckey-Doak finished the night with 266 yards.

"We feel like we've improved tremendously in the last two weeks," Hall said. "The loss hurts, 0-4 hurts, but the improvement we're making before a big region game stretch is really great to see. It's going to help us out a lot, just the strides we're making the last couple of weeks."
