NEWPORT-With Newport's 28th annual Harvest Street Festival quickly approaching, organizers have announced two new additions to the popular celebration.

This year's festival will be held October 5-6 in downtown Newport. Saturday hours are 10-6 and Sunday's are 12:00-5:30 p.m.

"Each year we look for new ways to enhance this great community event and this year we are welcome a 'Bluegrass Jam Session with Monroeville' and 'Spirit of the Mountains Storytelling'," said Chamber of Commerce Director Valerie Fancher on Tuesday.

According to Fancher, the community jam session will feature award-winning Bluegrass band Monroeville.
