COSBY—An uncharacteristic hot start for the Cosby Lady Eagles would not deter Grace Christian on Thursday night.

The Lady Rams staved off a trio of Cosby goals in the opening 25 minutes and rallied for a 6-4 victory at Raymond Large Field to remain unbeaten in regular season play.

Despite playing the Lady Rams (5-0) to the closest goal margin of the season, Cosby coach Ken Green was not pleased with the effort of his young team on Thursday. The Lady Rams have defeated opponents by an average of 4.8 goals this year.

In their rally, Grace tied the game with a quick rally in the final seven minutes of the half. The Lady Rams tied the game by the intermission with a pair of quick strike goals from Allie Dunn and another from Deanna Dobson.

“We just didn’t stay with the game plan,” Cosby coach Ken Green said. “We gave up, we laid down and we didn’t try. We let them come back too easily.

“We don’t coach standing and watching and looking - we coach hustling,” Green said. “We didn’t get the hustle tonight that we should’ve had, and will have the rest of the season. I guarantee that this team will not lay down, not another game.”
