Jefferson Cocke County Utility District received good news on two significant achievements, thanks to the work of local employees, said General Manager Tommy Bible.
For five years in a row now the public utility serving more than 12,300 customers in Cocke and Jefferson counties received the national American Public Gas Association (APGA) annual safety award.
The safety award is given to only a few utilities in America because of their outstanding safety records, said Bible. The APGA award was for 2012.
"We are proud of it. It speaks well of our people, our employees," said Bible. More than 40 JCCUD employees participate in training, safety awareness, and contests to achieve the remarkable series of awards.
Secondly, JCCUD was notified by its audit firm the audit for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2013 found no deficiencies and was "clean."
