DENMARK, WISCONSIN-Tyler Boyd of Parrottsville has been named one of the nation's top nine dairy students in the nation by the National Dairy Shrine. This year's Student Recognition Award winners represent universities from coast-to-coast.
Jacob Achen, a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, is the top award winner and recipient of $2,000, while second place honors and a cash award of $1,500 went to South Dakota State University graduate April Johnson.
Boyd, along with Mandy Brazil, Casey Arlig, Jordan Hanson, Isaac Salfer, Mitch Kappelman, and Matt Henkes, received a $1,000 award.
Boyd is a dairy science graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is currently serving as third vice-president of the American Dairy Science Association-Student Division and is an active member of the Virginia Tech Dairy Club.
