NEWPORT-A two-vehicle collision that occurred at about 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, on West Highway 25/70, near the Time Out! and Exxon businesses, left one driver with minor injuries, and the other driver with a "possible" injury.

Carolyn Chambers, the driver of a Chevrolet Lumina, was transported from the scene by ambulance to the Newport Medical Center for apparently minor injuries, including scratches to her head, said a law enforcement officer on the scene.

Willard Caldwell Jr., 66, 171 Daisy Drive, Newport, said he was headed east on the highway in his 2010 Toyota Tundra, traveling in the left lane, when Chambers in her Chevrolet turned left from the right lane across Caldwell's lane of travel, leading him to hit her vehicle in the rear, and damaging the front of his pickup truck.
