NEWPORT-Four juveniles ages 10-14 were detained by police and charged with vandalism and criminal trespassing on Tuesday, July 16, at 8:35 p.m., after police were dispatched to the school following a call that kids were possibly on the roof of the school, the Newport Police Department reported.

Police arrived and spoke with Assistant Principal Justin Norton, Sgt. Justin Vinson reported.

Norton allegedly told police he witnessed what appeared to be four male juveniles on the roof of NGS, near the main office. Police looked around and noticed five security cameras moved from their set positions, either pointed towards the sky, or down towards the ground, according to the report.
