PARROTTSVILLE-Smoke damage from a fire that erupted in a mobile home at 110 Brookstone Road, in Parrottsville, on Tuesday, July 2, destroyed the entire residence, the Cocke County Fire Department reported.

"Skip" Ellison of the CCFD said fire destroyed about 30 percent of the mobile home on one side, but smoke damage affected 100 percent of the residence. The residence is valued at $160,000, he said.

Charles Hance, who owns the residence with Sonja Hance, was mowing his lawn when, at 6 p.m., he saw smoke coming from one of the residence's four bedrooms. Ellison said a short in an outlet may have started the blaze.
