COSBY-Following an investigation spanning from mid-2012, undercover agents within the Cocke County Sheriff's Department Narcotics Unit conducted numerous marijuana purchases from Lemuel Garver and those named and unnamed who reside at the address of 455 Middle Creek Road in Cosby. Intelligence gained throughout the investigation identifies Garver as part of a larger conspiracy to distribute illegal drugs within Cocke County.
On May 24, 2013 the residence of Garver was entered with a search warrant. Sheriff Armando Fontes, Chief John Carrell, Captain Derrick Woods, deputy sheriffs, detectives and narcotics agents within the Cocke County Sheriff's Department made contact with Garver and numerous others residing at the home.
During the search of the residence and various surrounding buildings, officers found 49 bags of an individually wrapped green leafy substance believed to be marijuana packaged in a manner consistent with resale. These were found inside a shelf near the rear of the home. Each individual bag contained approximately 1/4 ounce of suspected marijuana.
