COSBY—The Cosby Lady Eagles suffered a setback to powerful University High in Wednesday’s Region 1-A softball championship game.

University High, which earned the District 1-A title over North Greene last week, posted five first inning runs en route to a 16-2 victory over Cosby in five innings. The Lady Junior Bucs scored in every inning of the game.

As a result of the loss, Cosby will visit Region 2-A champion Oliver Springs in a TSSAA Class A sectional game on Friday (TIME: 6 p.m.) with a state tournament berth on the line. Oliver Springs defeated Coalfield 8-0 for the Region 2-A crown.

University High will host Coalfield in their TSSAA Class A sectional matchup.
