NEWPORT-Cocke County High School's popular spring choral concert will be tonight at First Baptist Church of Newport starting at 7 p.m.

Under the direction of CCHS Choral Director Jerry Maloy, the program, "Choose Something Like a Star," features this 20th century classic by Randall Thompson, a selection based on Robert Frost's poem, as an introduction to the evening.

The program also includes the complete "Mass in G" by Franz Schubert, sung in Latin, and featuring student soloists with piano accompaniment by Adele McDonald. Dr. Rich Lloyd, First Baptist Church pastor, will introduce the Mass with a quick history of its development over the past 1500 years.
