NEWPORT-The 21st Annual Newport Lions Club Horse Show will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Cocke County A&I Fairgrounds.

Committee Chairman Jack Suggs, who is serving as the committee's chair for the 13th straight year, said the annual event attracts horse show enthusiasts from both the local area and from out of state.

"A lot of the horse show folks set their calendars far in advance," said Suggs. "We've always held our show the third Saturday in May, so we've made it easy for them to remember. There are a lot of other reasons we've been able to see good attendance at the show every year. It's just a great show and great entertainment that the whole family can enjoy."

Proceeds from the horse show help fund the various community projects sponsored by the Newport Lions Club.
