NEWPORT-"Linda Lewanski embodies cooperation and the sense of working together," said Molly Gilbert of the Middle East Tennessee Tourism Council on Thursday as she presented Lewanski the Chuck Davis Tourism Award at Thursday's meeting of the Cocke County Partnership's Executive Committee.

"She always, always, always provides support throughout the region. She sees the big picture and makes the connections. And she's not afraid of getting in there and doing the hard work like hauling bales of hay to be used for seating. She's makes the most efficient use of the money she has to work with of anyone I know."

Echoing Gilbert's praise for Cocke County's Tourism Director was Kent Cave, Supervisory Ranger, Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

"Linda is one of our partners in tourism," said Cave. "It a fun part of my job to work with Linda each year to showcase Cocke County's communities and citizens at the Music of the Mountains and Cosby in the Park celebrations. I'm pleased and honored to be here today."
