NEWPORT-The result of a four-month investigation, 21 out of 35 people sought by law enforcement were "rounded up" in a drug sweep across Cocke County on Wednesday, May 8, the Cocke County Sheriff's Department reported.

"This investigation was completed prior to the end of 2012, and required lab reports to be finalized as well as other evidence to be processed," Sheriff Armando Fontes stated in a press release.

All 35 suspects sought on Wednesday received drug charges based upon grand jury indictments against the individuals, the sheriff stated in the press release.

"Following drug indictments resulting from a narcotics investigation completed by the Cocke County Sheriff's Office in August of 2012 where 33 individuals were indicted for various drug charges, undercover agents with the Cocke County Sheriff's Department's Narcotics Unit obtained grand jury indictments against 35 additional suspects," according to the press release.
