HARTFORD-As the much-anticipated summer vacation approaches, Cocke County students will now have a new opportunity to look forward to-a free whitewater rafting trip on the Pigeon River.
5 Rivers, which is under new management, Cripple Creek Adventures, would like to do something for the students in Cocke County. From May 20 to Aug. 10, any student in grades kindergarten to 12th grade can raft for free with a paid parent or guardian. The only required cost for the students is a $2 river usage fee.
As part of the company's policy, 5 Rivers/Cripple Creek Adventures believes that corporate responsibility extends beyond its business and leads it to take an active role in the community. The company strives for its community involvement to be significant, with a focus on activities that build both social and community-wide well-being both now and in the future.
