KNOXVILLE-Celebrate Life, a local cancer support group serving Cocke and Jefferson Counties, is the recipient of a $16,311 grant from Susan G. Komen Foundation Knoxville Affiliate.
"This grant will help Celebrate Life continue our outreach program to breast cancer patients in our area," said Celebrate Life co-founder Michele Sexton. "The money will help us to supply snack food to three cancer treatment centers, purchase supplies for our monthly meetings as well as office supplies, and give much needed financial assistance to patients undergoing treatment."
According to Sexton, Celebrate Life has received grant funds from the Susan G. Komen Foundation since 2003 with an initial grant of $5,000.
