NEWPORT-Charles Blalock & Sons was awarded a contract for the Walters bridge over the French Broad River, in Cocke and Jefferson Counties, the Tennessee Department of Transportation announced Wednesday, April 17.
The concrete bulb-tee bridge on Highway 25E project will include grading, drainage, construction of a retaining wall, and paving, TDOT stated.
Balock & Sons bid $12,894,312.64 for the project.
The contractor is expected to lay out his plans and schedule for the project at a pre-construction conference yet to be held, according to TDOT spokesman Mark Nagi.
