NEWPORT-A three-year-old boy, Hunter Frazier, apparently drowned in a pool on Saturday afternoon, April 13, on Cambridge Drive, after wandering off by himself, the Newport Police Department reported.

Officers received a call of a possible three-year-old's death at 403 Cambridge Drive, at 2:56 p.m., Capt. Scott Lamb reported.

When officers arrived on the scene, a screaming child approached them and allegedly said, "He is in the back and he has drowned," the report stated.

Police stated they ran to the rear of the residence and found Hunter unconscious and lying on the back of the deck near the pool, according to the report.
