NEWPORT-Charles David Sutton, 31, of 1485 East Highway 25/70, in Newport, was arrested on Thursday, March 28, after he allegedly hired two other men and together removed the engine and other parts from a Chevrolet Tahoe stolen from West Plaza Motors for Sutton to put them in his Chevrolet Tahoe, the Cocke County Sheriff's Department reported.

Three other codefendants, including the two men with whom Sutton removed parts from the stolen vehicle, and a woman who allegedly test drove the 1997 Tahoe at West Plaza Motors on West Broadway, in Newport one day before it was stolen from the lot, on Feb. 27, were arrested and charged on Sunday, March 24, Det. Jason Oury reported.

Det. Oury explained in his report that Newport Police Department Sgt. Ricky Parton filed a report for a maroon 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe allegedly stolen from West Plaza Motors, at 414 West Broadway, in Newport.
