Off of a crushing District 2-AAA loss to Morristown West on Tuesday night, the Cocke County High School Fighting Cocks baseball team rebounded with a pair of non-district wins on Thursday and Friday night to move above .500 on the season.
On Thursday, Cocke County (4-3) took a 2-1 road victory at Class AA for Elizabethton High School behind a strong effort on the mound from senior Jake Clevenger.
Clevenger (2-0) twirled a complete game, four-hitter to take down the Cyclones.
On Friday night, Cocke County High took a 13-2 decision over Chuckey-Doak High School.
Dagan Peak hit his second home run of the 2013 campaign and Lucas Hark also added a long ball in the victory.
Freshman Keary Nease earned his second victory of the season on the mound, throwing four innings and allowing one run. Jordan Allen and Tige Hooper came on in relief to close out the fourth victory of the season.
CCHS visited Hampton on Saturday and is scheduled to play Morristown East in a District 2-AAA series on Monday at Sherwood Park in Morristown, before hosting the Hurricanes on Tuesday evening.
