NEWPORT-A 17-year-old Cocke County High School student found on campus on Thursday, March 21 with marijuana, two Xanax pills, and tobacco was charged, released to his parent, and 'zero-toleranced' out of school for one year, Sgt. Randy Cutshaw of the Cocke County Sheriff's Department reported.

Sgt. Cutshaw, the school resource officer, said he got a tip that the student had drugs in his possession while at CCHS, the report stated.
